Inspired by quiet winter forests, our Spruce Bandeau Scarf brings a touch of the outdoors to every chilly adventure. Featuring a soft evergreen tree print and crafted from our custom, made-just-for-us fabric, it’s a cozy seasonal staple that’s equal parts classic and timeless.

 

First introduced in 2015 as our flagship product, our signature Bandeau Scarf features a built-in twist that loops once around your dog’s neck for a snug, stylish fit—no snaps, ties, or tricks required. Each scarf is finished with our vegan mountain tag for that touch of rugged Pacific Northwest charm.

How To Size

1. Measure the thickest part of your dog's neck or head using a soft tape measure.

2. Account for fluff - If your pet is between sizes, go up! Long haired dogs (shepherds, goldens) almost always need to size up.

3. Pay attention to the material listed above. Waffle scarves stretch a bit; flannel does not. Choose accordingly.

4. View sizing guide to determine final size. Please remember, not every breed will fit perfectly into each category. Measuring your dog is the best way to ensure a good fit.

Scarves come in different weights, ranging from light to heavy, with heavier scarves offering a snugger fit.

 

Waffles- Medium Weight: This fabric has a lot of stretch, so these scarves will drape more loosely compared to a stiffer material like flannel.

 

Flannels - Heavy Weight: Flannel is a non-stretch material, giving it a more structured feel. It's also known for being incredibly soft.

Loving the flannel for the cooler months.

Gus now has SIX scarves to choose from! Most recently we scooped up the seasonal ghost with orange hearts, and the green pine tree prints and get compliments nearly everywhere we take him. We're going to pick up a few waffle-scarves in the spring! For those who are unsure about what size to get, if you go by the sizing guidance you may end up with one that's a little oversized. I have a 55-pound pit bull and based on the guidance, I initially ordered XL but L is much more appropriate. Returns were easy, just be sure to not take the tag off and to brush off any hair that may have gotten on it when trying it on. :) Below Gus is shown in the Blizzard plaid flannel.

Love these scarves

For the first time, a dog "bandana" that stays on and does not need to be adjusted. This is a beautiful design. I hope they will expand paterns and fabrics to include stretch materials!

It Started As A Mission To Keep Spot & Emma Warm

Alysson Kuhns never set out to be a business owner, but Pacific Hound became the perfect accident. With a master’s degree in Sport Psychology, she once had her sights set on coaching collegiate track and field—until life (and two dogs, Spot and Emma) had other plans. 

 

What started as a simple mission to keep her pups warm during freezing Kansas mornings turned into a booming business, first on Etsy and later as the full-fledged brand, Pacific Hound. Fueled by a love for the outdoors, adventure, and of course, dogs, Alysson rebranded in 2018 and never looked back. Today, Pacific Hound is more than just a business—it’s a testament to persistence, creativity, and community, connecting thousands of like-minded adventurers across the world.
