Hi, I’m Alysson Kuhns — mom to Spot and Emma, and to three wild little humans: Skylar, Landyn, and Parker.

Before Pacific Hound ever existed, my wife and I were just a couple of avid runners living in Kansas — where winters are brutal and coats aren’t exactly optional. Every morning, our dogs would tag along, but Emma made it clear she wanted nothing to do with coats, bandanas, or anything that required being chased around the house to put on.

So one cold morning, I crocheted her a simple slip-on scarf — no ties, no snaps, just soft, easy warmth. To my surprise, she actually loved it. That one little scarf became the start of something bigger. Friends began asking for them, word spread, and soon our kitchen table operation grew into what would become Pacific Hound.

Years later, we’ve traded the flat plains of Kansas for the misty trails of Oregon, where we’ve built a fully custom product from the ground up — from designing our own prints to weaving our own fabric.

Today, as the founder, owner, and creative behind Pacific Hound, I’m proud to say what started as a cozy compromise for one picky pup has become a brand rooted in comfort, adventure, and the simple joy of sharing life with your dog.
